The Institute for ocean sciences proposes a set of initiatives for master’s and PhD students in the field: an annual seasonal school with theory and practical sessions, the organisation of events bringing together academics, students and partners (e.g. Ocean Day 2023 bringing together 150 professionals and students) and thesis and master’s grants. We also support the implementation of new interdisciplinary training that incorporates a scientific approach (DESU, (post-master’s qualification) UE (teaching unit)). At international level, we are developing close ties with the CIVIS alliance, (European civic university). We welcome more than 10 different nationalities among our students and 7 nationalities in our international summer school. Lastly, we are also developing partnerships with leading oceanography universities (e.g. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution).
