The Ocean Sciences Institut draws on research teams within 14 research units and connects around 400 staff from Aix-Marseille Université, the CNRS, Centrale Méditerranée, the IFREMER, the IRD, the IRSN and the University of Toulon.

Our research initiatives
The Institute for ocean sciences proposes a number of actions to help researchers, teacher-researchers, engineers, post-doctoral students, PhD students and its laboratories. These include:
- Support and joint construction of applications for European projects.
- Funding and support for the selection of interdisciplinary research projects > 2 to 4 research projects per year.
- Proposal for half-doctoral contracts to encourage external co-funding

Testimonials
Funding from the OCEAN Institute has enabled us to launch the Biodiv'Innov project, an ambitious collaboration between various partners from Aix-Marseille University and OSU Pythéas. The project got underway in November 2022 with the recruitment of an engineer who has helped to set up a collaboration between the players to study planktonic biodiversity and its evolution as a function of environmental conditions in a context of climate change.
