Instructions for project initiators and actions funded by the institute

Granting of the Institute for ocean sciences’ funding is subject to adherence to the instructions below.

Display of institutional logos

To ensure conformity to the requirements of the National research agency within the context of the Excellence Initiative, all projects funded by the institute must display the logos of the institute, the Amidex Foundation and the “France 2030” investment plan on their communication documents (speech handouts, printed documents and digital media). These logos can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

Signing of scientific publications

Please remember to systematically thank the Institute for ocean sciences for all projects funded by OCEAN, in master’s reports, conference presentations, seminars, theses and articles, handouts for conferences or training, using the sentence:

  • FR: “Ce travail a reçu le soutien du gouvernement français dans le cadre du plan d'investissement France 2030, dans le cadre de l'Initiative d'Excellence d'Aix-Marseille Université- A*MIDEX - Institut des Sciences de l'OCEAN (no AMX-21-IET-016). ”
  • EN: “This work received support from the French government under the France 2030 investment plan, as part of the Initiative d’Excellence d’Aix-Marseille Université- A*MIDEX - Institute for Ocean Sciences (no AMX-21-IET-016). ”

Monitoring of projects

To promote communication and monitor activity indicators, project initiators agree to inform the Institute for ocean sciences’ Operational Manager in the following cases:

  • Presentation of the project or its results at a symposium, seminar or conference, whether these are open to the scientific community or the general public
  • Publication of an article (submitted, to be published or published), a publication or a chapter in a publication connected to the project
  • Support of a master’s thesis or PhD thesis drawing on the results of the project
  • Obtaining of a prize or a distinction, individually or collectively, awarded based on the results of the project
  • Development of the project within the framework of a scientific culture event open to the general public
  • Mention of the project in the press

The Institute for ocean sciences distributes a weekly newsletter that presents:
