Please see below for special conditions for doctoral and post-doctoral contracts.

OCEAN particularly encourages the recruitment of PhD students for this type of project.

Note on doctoral and post-doctoral contracts

The procedure for recruiting temporary staff must follow A*Midex procedures.

  • Doctoral contract: given the expected budget for these interdisciplinary projects and the tight schedule, the project sponsor should contact the Ocean Sciences Institute as soon as possible to determine precisely what actions need to be taken to ensure that the best candidate is recruited. A feasibility study on the use of funding granted for a doctoral contract is currently underway, and we advise project leaders wishing to set up a doctoral contract to contact OCEAN before submitting their application.
  • Post-doctoral contracts: In order to guarantee satisfactory conditions for young researchers selected for post-doctoral contracts, we recommend a minimum duration of 18 months for this type of contract. The project may guarantee this duration through co-financing.

OCEAN selection criteria

  • Scientific excellence and integration into the recruited person's scientific project, if applicable;
