Ocean 2025 Summer school: the Rights of the Mediterranean Sea
A week to understand, explore and act
The OCEAN 2025 Summer school offers an interdisciplinary immersion in the issues of governance, conservation and environmental justice in the Mediterranean. Combining theory, practice and fieldwork, this training course is aimed at students, researchers, professionals and decision-makers wishing to develop a critical understanding of socio-ecological transformations in the Mediterranean Sea.

A rich, immersive program
For five days, the OCEAN 2025 Summer school offers an alternating program of lectures, field trips, screenings and participatory workshops. Led by researchers, jurists, experts and civil society players, it tackles the major issues linked to the governance of the Mediterranean: biodiversity, pollution, law of the sea, environmental justice, international cooperation and much more.
A boat trip to the heart of Marseille's calanques is also planned, to link theoretical lessons with field observation.

- Free for AMU & CIVIS students
- 200 € for other participants (professionals, external students)
Accommodation, dinners and staff transportation are the responsibility of participants.
A school driven by Research
Organized as part of the MerMéd project and supported by Campus AFD, the school benefits from the expertise of Aix-Marseille Université's Institute for Ocean Sciences, at the crossroads of scientific, legal and technological disciplines.
